Former Clarins Exec, Dead at 83

Serge Rosinoer is credited with helping to grow the company.

Serge Rosinoer, a former executive at Groupe Clarins – and credited with helping to grow the company – has died at 83 in a hospital in Paris. The cause of death was cancer.

Rosinoer helped develop the first Thierry Mugler fragrance, Angel, which has been a bestseller for decades.

Rosinoer joined Clarins in 1978 as managing director; then became CEO in 1984 when the company went public. In 1998, he was appointed president of Clarins’ management board. He retired from the role in 2000. Since then, he has been a member of the supervisory board.

Prior to Clarins, Rosinoer was CEO of Max Factor Europe. He also served on the board at Inter Parfums.

Rosinoer is survived by his wife, two daughters and grandchildren.
